As a curious engineer, you might have already thought about all the data and infrastructure necessary to support the impending Agentic world.
In this unmapped and emerging future (present?), autonomous AI systems and agents, along with their applications, will need to be fully understood, measured, and quantified. Especially when it comes to financing.
Of course, architecting and scaling real-time systems isn't new to you. You have done that before - managing high throughput doesn't scare you.
But this is a completely new domain, likely using information and systems that are already starting to appear very different from what we currently know, and at a scale yet to be seen.
How could this all be managed? What will be the hardest bits of pulling it all together? Knowing what you do already, can you dodge those pitfalls?

Where You Come In
As our Founding Back End Engineer, you will be the architect behind the core that ingests, processes, and analyses massive streams of data.
The infrastructure you will set up and own will turn unimaginably large amounts of raw metrics into clarity for CFOs, operators, and engineers, helping catch runaway spend before it becomes a problem and enabling real-time margin analysis for every AI agent they have out working hard for customers.
What You'll Build
Scalable, low-latency data pipelines: Use streaming frameworks to process millions of real-time events without missing a beat.
Robust databases & attribution engines: Design and maintain systems that map every dynamic cost and revenue event, supporting high-speed analytics and deep attribution graphs.
APIs (or MCPs) for dashboards and integrations: Powering real-time visualisations and customer-facing features.
Machine learning infrastructure: Develop systems for prediction, anomaly detection, and cost margin analysis.
Reliability, observability, security: Own end-to-end stability and transparency across the data stack.

Who You Are
Energised by inventing products and systems from scratch.
3+ years designing and scaling distributed, high-throughput backend systems.
Mastery of modern data streaming, event-driven architectures, and databases.
Fluent in Python, Go, or similar; advanced API building (REST, GraphQL).
Deep understanding of security, observability, and modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
Curious, proactive, and always looking to improve.
Excellent communicator and documentarian - clear writing, clear thinking.
Bonus: Experience with ML, agentic AI, or startup-scale adventures.
Tech Stack
Current Main stack: Python (analytics/dashboard), TypeScript (data ingestion with Cloudflare Workers)
Databases: Postgres (user data), ClickHouse (observability)
Looking ahead: Go or Rust (self-hosting).
