Andy has used SEEKR on previous hires with good results and decides to give them an exclusive on building the new squad.
Funded by OVO Energy (and now part of them), Kantan was a start-up building a SaaS platform/marketplace that connected homeowners with gas engineers, plumbers, and electricians. The team is lean and building fast. They prefer engineers with a full-stack mentality and the skills to go with it.
The problem
CTO Andy has approval from investors to add another squad, but he and the existing squad do not have time to search for candidates online or conduct a lot of speculative interviews. They need to speak to well-qualified candidates who are already interested in the work before their first interview.
The solution
SEEKR works with Andy and his team to understand exactly what needs to be done and who are the kind of people who do it well. They also reinterview some of their previous placements to find out what they like about working at Kantan and if they would recommend it to other developers. They create some assets to assist the search, including traditional job adverts, email campaigns, and a quick video JD to share with interested candidates. They map the market for the skills required against the budget the business has. They begin a slow and precise campaign of sending personalised video messages to relevant candidates. Interested candidates are given a 30-minute video with one of the SEEKR team using an interview script written specifically to target the personality attributes the team wish to identify.
The result
The new squad is hired in record time. Kantan delivers so successfully that they attract the interest of the OVO CEO, who decides to roll them into the wider OVO business where they now function as a technical accelerator.
